The installer is used to install the Client to your PC.  The Client  connects you to the MSC Remote Backup Server.  Once the install process finishes, the Registration Wizard runs helping you register with our Server.

Install Instructions

1. From one of the links above, click the install button to download the My Computer Backup client.

2. Follow instructions in InstallShield Wizard which will guide you through the setup process.

3. Click New Registration at next prompt.

4. Double-click the MSC Remote Backup Icon in system tray located on right side of taskbar.

5. Click New Registration at next prompt.

6. Follow instructions in Registration Wizard to register with the NCP Inc. Remote Backup Server.

7. Click Yes at the Create Key File prompt.  It is strongly recommended that you store this on a floppy disk, CD or resource other than the PC that you are installing Client to.  If you do not create a Key File you WILL NOT be able to do a disaster recovery should the occasion ever arise.

8. It is very important that you print or write down your Encryption Key Information and store in a safe location.

9. Congratulations!  You are now ready start your first backup to the MSC Remote Backup Server.

Disaster Recovery

Disaster Recovery is used in case of catastrophic hard drive failure upon re-installation of Operating System.  After re-installation, follow the instructions below to ultimately retrieve data stored on the MSC Remote Backup Server.  Hopefully you followed step 7, above, to the letter, and have access to the media where you created your Key File during your last install.

1. Click here to download the My Computer Backup client.

2. Follow instructions in InstallShield Wizard which will guide you through the setup process.

3. Click Disaster Recovery at next prompt.

4. Click Yes at question, "Do you have a current Key File Available?".

5. Insert floppy disk, CD or access resource where you created Key File in step 7, above, during original install.

6. Click OK at next prompt.

7. Shutdown and restart Remote Backup to complete Disaster Recovery.

8. Click Yes at the Create Key File prompt.  It is strongly recommended that you store this on a floppy disk, CD or resource other than the PC that you are installing Client to.  This new Key File will replace any Key Files created during any previous installs.

9. It is very important that you print or write down your Encryption Key Information and store in a safe location.

10. Congratulations!  You are now ready to retrieve your data stored on the MSC Remote Backup Server!
